This beautiful part of the great British countryside, located in the North Yorkshire Moors just 30 minutes drive from Middlesbrough, is renowned throughout the local district scouting community, as the place they remember best, during their youth when involved with the scout association, myself included. DJM Aerial Solutions were delighted to be approached to provide some drone filming northeast.
Cleveland Scouts approached us to help them promote the campsite with 4K aerial footage. DJM Aerial Solutions, obliged and are proud to be a part of their recent marketing campaign.
APART from its attractive location, nestling as it does within its picturesque rural setting within the North Yorkshire Moors with views that are the envy of most that see them. Commondale is a quiet and peaceful village typical of most others, however……..
It is only when you delve into the history of Commondale and its immediate surroundings that you find something much more unique and when closely observant of the building work you notice something quite quaint.
This part of the world tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the busier surrounding towns and villages, nestled firmly in the Westerly Esk Valley amongst the North Yorkshire Moors was once a bustling community. A major employer was the Cleveland Fire and Brick Company owned and ran by a Stokesly landowner and printer named John Pratt. The buildings in this community are built using handmade and hand fired bricks from this local quarry.
The network of roads and paths that we have tried to capture within our aerial footage around the site of the old brickworks are a reminder of the way things were done in the old days. Evidence of the works is still there albeit a ruined quarry with the paths being constructed of the debris bricks and demolished works.
DJM Aerial Solutions were able to capture 4K aerial footage using our fleet of purpose-built drones and sensors. The final video was edited by ourselves and handed over to Cleveland Scouts for the final touches.
