DJM Aerial Solutions Execute Drone Condition Survey On Commercial Office Block In Leeds City Centre
Carrying out regular inspections of assets in industry is mandatory, however, when it comes to infrastructures such as bridges, buildings, roads and dwellings it is advised but not set in stone, as it might be on say a petrochemical site or gas plant. However, the importance of carrying out any condition survey of company or personal assets should be looked upon as an investment. Essentially preventing unnecessary degradation.
Traditional methods of infrastructure inspections and surveys such as a commercial roof inspection and asset integrity surveys involve colossally expensive access methods that generally eat into the company’s maintenance budget, costing hundreds of thousands in some cases, not to mention the timescale required for the erection of scaffold which is going to be a prerequisite for any kind of high rise commercial roof inspection.
It goes without saying that any company is going to need to consider it’s options when e.g. a commercial roof survey is considered. Which corporate boss would shut down a building for several days or weeks, losing £££ in revenue whilst a scaffold was erected? Or would they keep their staff at work risking possible injury or death from potential falls from above? Or maybe they would employ a company to only work after hours costing 4 or 5 times the amount it normally would. They then need to look at the aesthetic point of view or the picture that might be portrayed to a potential client walking onto a building site for a corporate meeting.
Needless to say, the issue is crystal clear and there are far more options against traditional methods of commercial roof inspection than for them. These reasons are now completely eradicated using industrial drone technology as a disruptive innovation eventually replacing traditional methods of visual inspection.

Leading National Building Company J Pullan and Sons Recognised The Strengths DJM Aerial Solutions Were Able To Offer & Awarded Us The Contract Over Our Competitors To Execute Their Commercial Roof Inspection In Leeds
We were recently employed by a leading building engineering company to carry out a commercial property roof condition survey utilising our industrial drone technology to capture essential data, giving the client the means necessary to make vital decisions on the next steps to take.
DJM Aerial solutions took all the required precautions to stay in line with any CAA rules and regulations using their industrial drone technology to capture the data required. The commercial building in question was now empty after the tenancy agreement had expired and prime for a drone inspection. The area was already cordoned off as the property underwent a complete transformation.
Drone inspection is particularly suited to this type of commercial roof survey due to the height that a roofer would need to work at. As aforementioned, a contractor is not likely to climb around a 6 storey building to carry out a commercial roof inspection without some kind of security such as scaffold or access platform.
DJM Aerial Solutions provided a fleet of high specification inspection drones to capture footage and imagery of individual roof sections clearly indicating it’s current condition and transferring that data into a structured report schedule, allowing the client to use it as they deem necessary.
The data we captured over the course of the day was absolutely crucial and the commercial roof survey was a complete success with DJM Aerial Solutions industrial drone technology providing a solution to the client’s requirements.
The roof area had failed around the pitched elevations on the south side of the building and various leaks were observed in other areas around the building. DJM Aerial Solutions processed the collected data and structured the necessary report indicating failure of a huge percentage of slates across the entire roof section.
Further scrutiny during the roof inspection indicated several sections of lead flashing around the turret area of the property had also failed with the watercourse from that particular section running directly into the roof cavity.
DJM Aerial Solutions were able to identify the areas of concern during the condition survey concluding any reasons behind the defective areas around the roof. The client was happy with the final outcome giving them the necessary information to forge a decision.
Commercial Roof Survey Is One Of The Many Services DJM Aerial Solutions Are Able To Offer Using Their Fleet Of Industrial Drone Technology.
