Photographic Condition Survey / Building Survey / Roof Survey
DJM Aerial Solutions were recently asked by a reputable chartered surveyor to carry out a photographic condition survey in terms of detailed building survey which also included an in-depth roof survey and photographic condition report on any defective issues. The prominent corner building was now used as a retail outlet for high street fashion store Miss Selfridge but previous to this exhibited a fine jewelry display.
With all of their capabilities UAV use is fast becoming a disruptive innovation to all sub-industries including construction and survey. The ground they can cover in relation to standard methods not only provides the same high-quality data but also reduces the risk of any injury to personnel plus the colossal reduction in costings.
This is certainly the case when carrying out Building Survey or a roof survey especially on difficult to navigate pitched areas and gable ends, even external elevations and sills that would normally need a scaffold or an access platform to inspect as was the case on this retail outlet and when working with a chartered surveyor the final information needs to be correct.
The building owned formally by a watchmaker Mathew George Collingwood who served as the town’s mayor in 1890. Built in a neo-Jacobean style it has many classical features which would prove difficult to navigate without the use of a SUAS.
The Building Survey would be time-consuming under general circumstances proving difficult to capture the required data from each cornice, finial and Dutch gable. However, DJM Aerial Solutions have the experience capability and engineering aptitude allowing them to carry out this task on a Sunday Morning well before any of the shops had opened for business.
