Photographic Condition Survey of Assets
Teesside Drone Business DJM Aerial Solutions has recently been awarded a commission in Grangemouth Scottland to provide asset integrity inspection for the industrial Gas supplier BOC. DJM Aerial Solutions in collaboration with another Teesside inspection company RAK inspection services were awarded the contract after several meetings with BOC (s) on-site pressure systems lead engineer.
Grangemouth is a familiar industrial area on the banks of the firth of forth unanimous as it Teesside with its heavy industry and chemical manufacture.
With the drone project being established using DJM Aerial Solutions working standard and operations manual combined with RAK inspection services experience BOC are looking to role out the procedure across all UK and Ireland sites going forward. DJM Aerial Solutions will offer both standard and long-range photographic condition survey and thermography of both hot and cold assets on site. Utilising relevant colour palettes for each but also providing radiometric imagery around targeted areas of concern.
This thermal overview and radiometric imagery provides the end user with the ability to pinpoint possible energy loss either hot or cold from any asset in question and analyse the exact temperature of that specific area. Allowing for a full image analysis inclusive of thermal loss. DJM Aerial Solutions can combine this with a standard photographic condition of the same area and provide a full analysis of the particular asset and target areas that may be of concern to the client. Allowing them to establish a maintenance plan for rectification of damage or defects. But also build up a trend of deterioration going forward.
Flyability Elios Confined Space Inspection
DJM Aerial Solutions won’t be utilising the Flyability Elios during this time, however, the option is there for future confined space inspection requirements and we will be in discussion with BOC with regards to their tank inspection needs.
The Flyability Elios gives us the range of equipment to not only inspect confined space (s) but also dilapidated and dangerous structures, pipe rack inspection, roof truss survey (s) allowing us to get up close to areas within the building that may need monitoring. Search and rescue within collapsed or damaged structures. Internal Point cloud to give added value to your BIM project. The options are indeed endless with the Fleet of UAVs and sensors that we now have access to.
BOC Asset Inspection
DJM Aerial Solutions plan on using their industry leading dual payload capability Matrice 210 and mount both Z30 long range RGB and XT thermal camera to the airframe to allow both thermal and standard condition survey of each particular asset on site. The inspection process will be a thorough visual and thermal survey of their cold box, waste gas stack and all of the storage tanks on site.
Not only will DJM Aerial Solutions be providing aerial inspection services, but will also be providing inspection of the underside of each tank and asset. Using a remote industrial inspection rover and horizontally mounted gimbal, DJI’s Osmo. Allowing the rover to be remotely operated in conjunction with the 3 axis DJI Osmo and onboard lighting.
