The Charity Take Over Match Butterwick Hospice / Teesside Hospice
Butterwick Hospice approached us recently on the back of a solid recommendation from one of their key event speakers’ to film provide some aerial filming within the grounds of Middlesbrough FC. This would help to promote their collaborative charity event involving 2 of the biggest charities in Teesside if not the North East, Butterwick Hospice and Teesside Hospice working together with Middlesbrough FC sponsor Ramsdens on a prestigious black-tie legends sportsman’s dinner and a charity football match against rivals Reading.
Ramsdens Financial has kindly donated the advertising space on the front of the Middlesbrough FC shirts to the two local charities. Where Middlesbrough FC will play the particular game in that shirt. The charity takeover match and any profits derived from the sale of the player’s shirts at auction will be donated to both Butterwick and Teesside Hospice and help to provide specialist care for those suffering from cancer or other life-limiting illness.
DJM Aerial Solutions were humbled to be involved with such an amazing event allowing us to give something back to such a fantastic organisation. Both charities give so much to our loved ones in their time of need and we were delighted to be considered for the work, allowing us to contribute some aerial filming helping to bring awareness to their fundraising event.
The Drone Filming Operation
We were aware that the Geo Fence encompassing Middlesbrough FC Riverside Stadium would be a hurdle to try and unlock as it does a fantastic job preventing the none professional pilots and amateurs from carrying out any drone filming and potentially placing hundreds of people in danger on football match days. However, with our planning, expertise and top class training we were able to navigate this grey area easily and with confidence.
Although there was no Football match planned for this particular day we were still required to operate with all the required legalities and formalities allowing us to unlock the GeoFence. We received the relevant permissions from the landowner allowing us to go forward with the unlocking procedure.
We took all involved in the drone operation under our control and collaborated with each member of both Butterwick Hospice, Middlesbrough FC and Ramsdens explaining what we were planning.
With all parties well informed and confident within the safety and assurance of our professional operation DJM Aerial Solutions executed the drone operation safely and efficiently maintaining their 100% safety record in a professional but friendly manner. The aerial filming was a success and all parties were suitably impressed.
We would like to take this opportunity to revisit the fantastic effort that all parties involved put into this fundraising event and enforce the amazing work that Butterwick Hospice, Teeside Hospice, and Ramsdens do for our local community with their selfless acts of kindness going that extra mile to make our loved ones feel comfortable during their final steps along their journey.
